Premium MPV Hits the Road — The Launch of the All-Electric EQV

It’s big, spacious, and electric. Following up on the eVito, our all-electric full-size MPV is now hitting the road: the Mercedes-Benz EQV (Stromverbrauch kombiniert: 27,0 kWh/100 km; CO2-Emissionen kombiniert: 0 g/km, Angaben vorläufig)[1].

People like to use the V-Class for vacation trips and for shuttling business customers about. We are well aware that an electric full-size MPV has to meet the same requirements as the non-electric model. That’s why I’m very proud that my team managed to give the EQV a range of 405 kilometers1 and an output of 150 kW.

If a longer distance needs to be driven, the vehicle comes with a fast-charging system as standard. This feature enables the EQV to be recharged from 10% to 80% in less than 45 minutes. That’s less time than it takes to eat lunch at a rest stop and the charge level will let the vehicle drive for several hundred more kilometers.

At the heart of our EQV is the electrical drivetrain with the lithium-ion battery. We managed to integrate the battery into the vehicle in such a way that the interior offers exactly as much space as the V-Class. Incidentally, this is also the case with the familiar versatile seating concept — the electric variant of the full-size MPV has room for up to eight seats.

Smart, connected, and intuitive

As is the case with all of our new models, the interior of the EQV features the specially enhanced MBUX. This intuitive infotainment system responds to voice commands and can even recognize the driver’s voice and dialect so that it can react better and more reliably to his or her wishes.

Special EQ functions ensure the driver always has an overview of all of the parameters, including charge level and energy flow. In combination with the Mercedes me app, MBUX also lets users send the next route to the vehicle from their couches and set the climate control in advance.

Electrical intelligence and versatility are also expressed by the EQV’s drive programs. Depending on the program selected, the vehicle can, for example, drive rapidly along winding roads or move very energy-efficiently through dense urban traffic. The drive program E+ activates the ECO Assist system. This system automatically adjusts the vehicle parameters and the energy recovery during braking (recuperation) to the driving conditions and helps the motorist drive more energy-efficiently.

We see the EQV as a further milestone on the path to sustainable mobility. We hope you have as much fun driving the vehicle as we had developing it.
